Mini’s is our specialised babies program. In this program, our focus is on giving our parents and babies the fundamental skills of swimming, with consideration to their social, cognitive and developmental well-being. Our babies gain amazing skills – even before they can walk! Skills include but are not limited to: water safety skills, floating, kicking, paddling, safety falls and safe returns to the side.
With the guidance of a qualified teacher, the parent essentially becomes the teacher and has a one-on-one lesson/time with their child. Out Mini’s program is a fantastic bonding experience!
Mini’s 1 builds on your child’s confidence and mobility through the use of games, songs and water play. To enroll into this class. Students must be at least 3 months (12 weeks) of age to participate in this class. The focus of this class is to increase familiarity in the water for both parent/carer and child, provide a bonding experience for participants and gain skills such as breath control whilst ensuring that safety techniques are in all class activities.
Mini’s 2 is for infants between the ages of 10 and 18 months of age. This class focuses on equipping both parent and baby with a head start in swimming lessons and water safety skills. We aim for our parents to gain an understanding into the skills and gain the confidence to participate with their baby comfortably in their classes. These classes have been designed with your child’s physical, developmental and cognitive milestones in mind.
Mini’s 3 is the final stage in our Infant program – before we move into the transition to no-parent classes. As well as developing independent movements of arms and legs (supported by a parent as necessary). The class focuses on buoyancy and breath control, as well as your child’s gross motor development. This class is a prerequisite for our Movers 1 level – unless there have been regular lessons prior to enrolment at our centre.
The Movers program in our centre is unique: we believe that aquatic education is based around physical, cognitive and developmental stages for all swimmers. This program is considered a confidence & skill building transitional program from the Mini’s to the Masters program.
This is an Advanced infant class that is skill based and aimed at creating a familiar, comfortable environment for our swimmers, whilst introducing important elements of mainstream classes such as waiting for turns and using the “big kid” equipment. Graduation from this class is determined based on your child’s readiness to separate from their parent and settle into the skills-based program.
When a swimmer is cognitively and developmentally ready to separate from their parents into a “no parent” classes, they will progress into this class. This class focuses on the removal of the parent from the water and maintaining a happy and positive learning environment for our swimmers to assist in the child’s readiness to begin stroke based classes. This is an advanced toddler class.
The Masters program focuses on getting children moving with confidence and utilising appropriate and correct stroke techniques. Children in this program may begin as young as 3 years of age who have never swum before, up-to their tween years. As with all of our programs, this one too has a big focus on water safety skills.
This is a beginners stroke based class which focuses on paddles, kicks and floating as well as safety skills.
This is a stroke based class which focuses on basic freestyle, backstroke and floatation skills as well as safety skills.
Masters 3 is the second last level in our stroke based program. Our swimmers will work on perfecting freestyle and perfect backstroke and learn breaststroke. Students will also learn advanced water safety skills.
