Swim School Programs (Learn to Swim)

MINI'S

Mini’s is our specialised babies program. In this program, our focus is on giving our parents and babies the fundamental skills of swimming, with consideration to their social, cognitive and developmental well-being. Our babies gain amazing skills – even before they can walk! Skills include but are not limited to: water safety skills, floating, kicking, paddling, safety falls and safe returns to the side.

With the guidance of a qualified teacher, the parent essentially becomes the teacher and has a one-on-one lesson/time with their child. Our Mini’s program is a fantastic bonding experience!

Mini’s 1 builds on your child’s confidence and mobility through the use of games, songs and water play.  To enroll into this class.  Students must be at least 3 months (12 weeks) of age to participate in this class.  The focus of this class is to increase familiarity in the water for both parent/carer and child, provide a bonding experience for participants and gain skills such as breath control whilst ensuring that safety techniques are in all class activities.

  • Ages 3-10 months of age
  • Maximum of 6 students per class
  • Comfortable in the water
  • Comfortably submerge
  • Parents/Carers are in the water for this class

Mini’s 2 is for infants between the ages of 10 and 18 months of age.  This class focuses on equipping both parent and baby with a head start in swimming lessons and water safety skills. We aim for our parents to gain an understanding into the skills and gain the confidence to participate with their baby comfortably in their classes.  These classes have been designed with your child’s physical, developmental and cognitive milestones in mind.

The class focuses on buoyancy and breath control, as well as your child’s gross motor development. This class is a prerequisite for our Movers 1 level – unless there have been regular lessons prior to enrolment at our centre.

  • Ages 18months-2years of age
  • Maximum of 6 students per class

Movers

The Movers program in our centre is unique: we believe that aquatic education is based around physical, cognitive and developmental stages for all swimmers. This program is considered a confidence & skill building transitional program from the Mini’s to the Masters program.

This is an Advanced infant class that is skill based and aimed at creating a familiar, comfortable environment for our swimmers, whilst introducing important elements of mainstream classes such as waiting for turns and using the “big kid” equipment. Students are not able to enrol directly into this class. Students must participate in the Mini 3 program and be assessed in the water by our team.  Graduation from this class is determined based on your child’s readiness to separate from their parent and settle into the skills-based program.
