About Us
Nurturing confident swimmers, one stroke at a time
Swim Experts is the vision of Erin McMullan, an experienced aquatic industry professional with more than 25 years of experience in swimming education, leadership and program development. Erin began her career in 2000 as a Learn to Swim Instructor, developing her teaching expertise and gaining specialist qualifications in Infant and Preschool Aquatics, Access and Inclusion, and Adult swimming instruction.
Recognised as a subject matter expert in Infant and Preschool Aquatics, Erin’s passion for quality swimming education has shaped both her career and the Swim School’s development. Over the years, Erin has progressed from teaching into supervisory, management and facility coordination roles, gaining extensive experience across many areas of swim school operations. Erin has a background in Adult Vocational Education, working across a range of Registered Training Organsiations (RTO’s) throughout her career, as well as experience in Primary Education and 35 years of lived experience in Neurodiversity and presents regularly on a range of topics both inside and outside of the Aquatic industry.
Today, Erin is the proud owner and operator of the Swim Experts Swim School, a purpose-built Swim School with a strong focus on high-quality swimming education, particularly for infants, preschoolers and young school-aged children. The Swim School is designed to provide a welcoming, supportive, and professional environment where swimmers and their families can feel comfortable, confident, and connected.
Beyond the day-to-day operation of the Swim School, Erin is a passionate industry educator, mentor and coach. She works with swim school owners and aquatic professionals across Australia, sharing her knowledge and experience in areas including program development, staff training, professional development, leadership and swim school operations.
The Swim Experts team are committed to continuous improvement; this is also reflected in the many achievements of the Swim School. The business has received recognition through local business awards and within the wider aquatic industry, with achievements recognising areas including Infant and Preschool Aquatics, Access and Inclusion, leadership, community contribution and program development.
Central to Erin’s philosophy is the belief that a great Swim School is built around great people. She is committed to developing a knowledgeable, passionate and supportive team of swimming professionals who share a genuine commitment to their students and families.
This approach has helped shape the culture of Swim Experts, not just as a Swim School — combining professional swimming education with small classes, personalised instruction and a supportive environment where every swimmer is encouraged to learn, develop and succeed and educators are developed and mentored.
For Erin and the Swim Experts team, being a Swim School is about much more than teaching swimming skills. It’s about providing meaningful education, building confidence in and around the water, supporting families, developing exceptional instructors and contributing positively to the wider aquatic industry.

Our Culture
Building a supportive swim community at Swim Experts
Our team is deeply committed to cultivating a strong community spirit, dedicated to teaching children from as young as 3 months the vital skills of water safety and aquatics. We emphasize comprehensive skill development, focusing on helping children master swimming techniques and safety practices from an early age.
Beyond simple instruction, our responsibility extends to supporting and nurturing each child throughout their swimming journey. Together, we work diligently to create a positive and inclusive environment where every individual can thrive and excel in their aquatic skills, ensuring they become confident and proficient swimmers.
We are passionate about making a difference and teaching this life saving skill, utilising the best, most practical research in aquatics.
We inspire and learn from each other and see all learning, in and out of the pool as being infinite. This is what gives us mutual respect for our clients, our staff and most importantly, the children that swim with us.
We treat every child as an individual with their own needs and development curve. So how soon will your child take to begin swimming the lap of the pool? Well…how long is a piece of string? We cannot answer these questions because every child is different and every child is their own person. We alter our approach to them, rather than trying to alter their pace of learning to ours!
Swim Experts is not a workplace, it is a family – our staff members have family’s of their own with children and grandchildren who we love as our own.
We understand children and treat every child like we would our own – giving them the best opportunities available.
We crave to continuously learn and upskill ourselves. We keep ourselves informed of the latest in aquatics education for our team to be able to adapt and change our program to the needs of our community. We are commited to each staff’s learning and development within and outside the workplace.
We truly believe in following our vision, our passion and encourage this for every staff member. We follow their dreams and do what we can to make it a reality – whether that means becoming a fantastic swim teacher or an entrepreneur beyond the pool.
We are committed to the aquatic industry and so offer training and assessment opportunities to Ampd Academy, AUSTSWIM, Swim Australia and Royal Life Saving teachers throughout the year. We only employ qualified teachers, who have Nationally Recognised qualifications with Ampd Academy, AUSTSWIM, Swim Australia and Royal Life Saving – as well as industry assessors and Trainers, who ensure the quality of our lessons and program. We are proud members of the Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA), International Swim Schools Association (ISSA) and ARI (Aquatic Recreation Institute) as well as other various peak bodies within the aquatics industry which ensures, we are always up to date on all things aquatics!
We aspire for you to have the best experience each time you walk through our doors. Our Customer Service staff hope to make you feel comfortable, like you’ve walked into a friend’s place. We promote a happy, friendly and inclusive culture but if somethings do not go to plan, we want you feel confident in approaching our staff to let us know! If you would like to see a change, be part of that change by telling us. Your feedback is what gives us the opportunity to continuously improve our customer service and programs.
Our Mission
Swimming is more than a skill. It is a life-saving essential.
Our mission is to create safer, more confident and inclusive communities through exceptional aquatic education.
Swim Experts is built around the core belief that every learner deserves to feel safe, supported and empowered to succeed. We recognise that no two learners are the same, which is why our approach combines high-quality education, individualised teaching and an understanding of diverse learning needs, including neurodiversity.
We teach far more than strokes. We develop water confidence, practical safety skills, independence and the knowledge learners need to make safer choices in and around water.
Our commitment extends beyond the pool. Through community water safety education, industry advocacy, educator development and meaningful partnerships, we work to raise the standard of aquatic education and make a lasting difference to the communities we serve.
Above all, we want every learner to leave Swim Experts safer, stronger and more confident than when they arrived – equipped with skills and knowledge that can last a lifetime.
Confidence starts in the water. Safety lasts a lifetime.
Every child’s swimming journey is different. Our experienced Aquatic Educators build confidence, independence and essential water safety skills through supportive, individualised learning.
Building safer, stronger and more confident swimmers – for life.
